The Impact

The Impact, 60x72”, 2022

Commissioned by NFL athlete, Jarvis Landry. The orb is a visual representation of prayer or meditation, in this case it’s an sos prayer. This piece is about the obstacle course that is life and the harmony of the ups and downs. Lundberg combined Christian and Buddhist symbolism to tell a story of positivity and courage even when faced with danger. The bottom of the piece has an alligator looking at the viewer, daring them to move forward along the stone path in the water. On the left side of the painting there’s a heron flying with a narrow sword that from afar looks more like a reed from the water. Reeds are a symbol of victory in Christianity and the heron is a symbol of meditation in Buddhism. The white bird and the black alligator represent the dark and the light that our lives are made of.
