Shambhala’s

Field of Guardians

144x60”, 2023 , mixed media on stretched canvas.

"Shambhala’s Field of Guardians" is a celebration of peace, harmony, and unity, depicted through a diverse landscape that brings together over 60 symbols of positivity from various religions and cultures. The symbols featured in the painting range from statues and insects to animals and architectural forms, each representing a universal message of hope and goodwill. The title, "Shambhala," is drawn from the Sanskrit term meaning "place of peace" or "place of silence," referencing a mythical paradise mentioned in ancient texts, including the Kalachakra Tantra and the scriptures of the Zhang Zhung culture, which predates Tibetan Buddhism.

This painting is the culmination of a journey through my portal painting series, following “Guided into the Unknown.” It embodies a space of warmth, safety, and playfulness, inviting viewers to enter a world that feels both welcoming and serene. My intention is to create an artwork that transcends cultural and religious boundaries, offering a peaceful refuge for connection and joy.
