Sanctify

Sanctify, 84x40”, 2018, mixed media on wood panel

"Sanctify" is the second experimental piece in my glass series, and it features a more textured finish than Glory, the first piece in this collection. Both works are designed to interact with light, creating captivating refractions that affect both the viewer and the surrounding space. Inspired by the colored light refractions seen through large stained glass windows in churches, Sanctify—named for its meaning of "to make a place holy"—aims to bring the sacred outside the walls of a church. This piece is meant to embody the presence of God in everyday life, transcending traditional boundaries. In addition to thriving in direct light, Sanctify also flourishes in low light, creating a dynamic landscape of sparkling reflections.
