Guided into the Unknown
60x60”, 2023 , mixed media on stretched canvas.
“Guided into the Unknown" is a piece that explores a portal into a dreamlike, unknown dimension. The portal takes the form of torus geometry, its iridescent lines shifting in appearance depending on the angle—sometimes disappearing, sometimes revealing hues of blue or purple. At the core of the portal lies a distant blue and green landscape, which leads to another of my works, Shambhala’s Field of Guardians. Surrounding the portal, within the vast black abyss, are two gold guardian angels, serving as protectors on this journey into the unknown.
The composition of the painting creates an optical illusion, allowing the viewer to feel continually centered within the piece, as if drawn into the very heart of the portal. In the foreground, a glowing gold Bethlehem star shines brightly, acting as the guiding light toward the portal. One of its rays extends into the portal, subtly directing a small dog that is already following the path forward.
